There is a good YouTube video here (not one of ours) that shows you some of the good private Roku channels that you can add to your device. We have a full guide and a huge list of genres that you can see here. You may not be aware that there are also a large number of Netflix secret codes that you can enter to browse a huge amount of genres. Depending on what you plan to watch, you may want to consider using a VPN connection when using your Roku. This is a really simple process, you just have to enable the developer mode on the Roku and then add the private channel codes of the apps you want to it using your online Roku account. I was also made aware that there is a huge range of channel codes that you can enter into your Roku device to get what most people refer to as private channels on Roku. Being a Weeb, I was especially interested in finding anime channels. Most the of free official stuff available is pretty weak so I wanted to sideload some more exciting apps after hearing about hidden Roku apps.
The first thing I noticed when I fired up the Roku was that the usual on-demand apps were there – YouTube, BBC iPlayer, Netflix etc, but what if I wanted the football or movies? What if you are the sort of person that wants free adult Roku channels?! I was also hoping that I could get Roku UK private channels whilst working abroad.
I had been thinking of getting one of these for ages as I travel a lot and thought it would be a good companion so that I could watch whatever I wanted when sat it European hotel rooms. One of the many presents I received over the Christmas period was a Roku Express.
